How It Works

Just what in the hell are we talking about here?

Lathe-cut records, made one at a time.

Each record is cut in real time from your audio with no pressing-plant minimums.

  • Singles and EPs without pressing minimums
  • Short runs for gigs and launches
  • Mixtapes and curated playlists
  • Spoken word projects
  • Personal gifts and keepsakes

No. Crosstalk Customs uses a lathe-cut process. Each record is cut individually in real time.

Each format and speed has a practical limit. Staying within these keeps your record sounding loud, clear, and balanced.

7"

  • 33RPM → up to 3:45 per side
  • 45RPM → up to 3:45 per side

10"

  • 33RPM → up to 14:00 per side
  • 45RPM → up to 11:50 per side

12"

  • 33RPM → up to 18:30 per side
  • 45RPM → up to 15:10 per side

These are maximums, not targets. Longer sides require tighter grooves, which can reduce volume and low-end response.

For best results, we recommend leaving a bit of headroom and keeping both sides roughly balanced.

Lathe cuts differ from factory pressings but can sound excellent when prepared properly.

We master for the format and cut in stereo. PETG handles low end well and playback is stable on standard turntables.

Records are cut onto clear 2mm PETG blanks.

PETG is durable, consistent for lathe cutting, and built for real playback.

Records are supplied in stamped kraft outer sleeves with protective inner sleeves.

Custom packaging options are available depending on project scope. Mention your ideas in the order form.
