Custom lathe-cut records, made one at a time.

Each record is cut individually, in real time, directly from your audio. There are no minimum runs, no stampers, and no pressing-plant overhead. This makes the process ideal for one-offs, short runs, and personal projects.

All records are cut in full stereo, mastered in-house with the lathe-cut format in mind, and designed to play properly on standard turntables.

  • Bands, demos and short runs without pressing minimums
  • Mixtapes and playlists made physical
  • Gifts and keepsakes for birthdays, weddings and memorials
  • Unusual projects like spoken word, field recordings and in-jokes

Lathe-cut records are their own thing - and when handled properly, they can sound genuinely excellent. We master in-house specifically for the format and cut in full stereo.

If you want a real-world reference, we are always happy to play examples in-store and talk through what is realistically achievable for your project.

Traditional pressed vinyl records are made from PVC, produced using high-pressure moulding and large-scale industrial processes.

Crosstalk Customs records are cut onto clear 2mm PETG blanks. PETG is an extremely hardy, stable plastic that lets us cut records one at a time with a high degree of control and consistency.

Each blank weighs roughly 180g. It is a different medium to pressed vinyl, but it is consistent, durable, and capable of excellent sound quality when treated properly.

At present we are not able to offer other materials, but watch this space.

At present, records are supplied in stamped plain kraft cardboard outer sleeves with protective plastic inner sleeves.

We are actively working on some very exciting developments around sleeves and packaging. Keep an eye on our socials and in-store for updates as these roll out.

Lathe-cut records have stricter time limits than pressed vinyl:

  • 7 inch up to approximately 3:45 per side
  • 10 inch up to approximately 14:00 (33 RPM) or 11:50 (45 RPM)
  • 12 inch up to approximately 18:30 (33 RPM) or 15:10 (45 RPM)

If your audio is close to the limit, we will let you know what is realistic before cutting.

This process happens in real time, one record at a time, so capacity is naturally limited. At present, short runs (up to 20) are the sweet spot.

We are increasing capacity over time, so if you have something bigger in mind, contact us and we will tell you what is possible.

We ship both domestically and internationally. For international orders, please contact us for details, as shipping depends on the size of your run.

We keep it simple and will confirm the best option for your project during the process.

Copyright declarations and permissions are handled within the order form. Please make sure you have the right to use any material you submit.
