No. This is a lathe-cut process, not factory pressing. Copies are cut individually in real time.

That is why we can do one copy, or a short run, without the lead times and minimums of a pressing plant.

These are not the same as commercial pressings, but they can sound genuinely excellent when the source is prepared well. Think somewhere between lo-fi and hi-fi: clean, punchy, and very playable.

We cut and master for the format, and PETG handles low end well with great durability. If you want a reference, we can play examples in-store.

Crosstalk Customs records are cut onto clear 2mm PETG blanks. PETG is stable, hardy, and consistent for lathe cutting.

Each blank is roughly 180g. Different material to pressed PVC, but built for real playback and long life.

Records are supplied in stamped kraft cardboard outer sleeves with protective plastic inner sleeves.

Custom packaging options vary by project. If you have something specific in mind, note it in the form.

Lathe cutting has stricter time limits than pressed records:

  • 7 inch up to approx 3:45 per side
  • 10 inch up to approx 14:00 (33 RPM) or 11:50 (45 RPM)
  • 12 inch up to approx 18:30 (33 RPM) or 15:10 (45 RPM)

Shorter sides usually sound better and cut louder. If you are close to the limit, we will tell you what is realistic before cutting.

Capacity is limited because every copy is cut in real time. We can do one copy, and we can do short runs. The longer the audio, the lower the practical maximum.

As a guide, short releases are the easiest to produce in higher quantities. If you have a target number, submit the form and we will confirm what we can take on.

We ship Australia-wide and internationally. Shipping depends on size and quantity. We will confirm the best option for your project during the process.

Copyright declarations are handled inside the order form. Only submit audio you have the right to use.
