Record Flattening
Warped record? Albums reminding you a bit more of Twin Peaks than Lost Highway? Needle jumping out of a groove faster than a group of strangers exiting an elevator after someone's obviously tried to fart quietly but accidentally shit themselves? We might be able to help with our Record Dewarping service
Remember that ol' "two heavy panes of glass and an afternoon of good sunlight" advice? It worked - and most importantly led to the creation of automated machines that achieve essentially the same thing - which is great because we don't all walk around with two heavy panes of glass and can't control the sun (yet).
Using our specialised pressing machine, we dial in a controlled heat and pressure process to flatten records over set time periods - pretty much the same thing in principle.
Some warped records come up incredible, some improve just a bit, and some don’t change much — but it’s often worth a try.
We’ll always have a look first and let you know what we think before doing anything.
